Essentials By Ellen All Inside

I'm all about stamp sets that have critters - especially bears!  And this bear is special because the die cuts out his arms so he can hold things.  I decided to use the Essentials By Ellen All Inside set to make my husband's Fathers Day Card.  The sentiment "You Are My Sunshine" is great!  This project will also be entered in the Essentials By Ellen June Pin Sights Challenge.  Here is the inspiration picture...

And here is my project...

First, I applied some blue and yellow ink with an mini ink blending tool.  Then I stamped all the images and colored them with copics.  I used the dies to cut the shapes and popped everything up with foam tape.  The "Sunshine" sentiment is stamped directly on the background and the "You are mine" sentiment is white heat embossed on black cardstock.

Graduation Centerpiece

Just thought I would share the graduation centerpieces that my daughter, Katie, and I made for my son's graduation.  It is simply a mason jar with a sand filler.  We used BBQ skewers to as the "sticks" for the different decorations.  Katie wrapped the neck of the jar with some jute twine.  They were fun to make!

MFT Sketched Blooms

I've had the MFT Sketched Blooms for a while now and am just getting a chance to use it.  The set is very intriguing because it is so versatile.  You can color the line art  images with watercolor or copics or stamp the solid colors and use the line art images to create depth and definition.  So fun!

I just scratched the surface by stamping some of the solid images from MFT Sketched Blooms and using some of the outline images to add the definition.  To make the full shaker card front, I used the WR Memory Keepers Fuse Tool.  The happy birthday sentiment is a die-cut from Simon Says Stamp.

Mama Elephant Cub Cuddles

My new Mama Elephant Cub Cuddles set arrived in the mail last week so I got it inky right away by entering in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Simon Says: Stencil It!  I love this set, both the images and the sentiments.  First, I created a card base with Neenah Soloar White 110 lb card stock and used a Heidi Swapp Triangle stencil to create a subtle background with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and a mini round ink blending tool.

Next, I stamped one of the bears from the Cub Cuddles set with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored him in with copics.  I also stamped and colored a bunch of the heart shaped balloons.  Everything was cut out with the matching dies.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white on black cardstock.  Added some sequins and some Wink of Stella on the balloons and called it done!

Giftable Tags of Christmas - #1

Today's post is my first Christmas Tag for 2016.  Each year,  I make several tags in multiples for Christmas gifts.  I love to be able to do this throughout the year!  This tag is inspired by a Julie Ebersole quick tag in this post and features the Essentials by Ellen Bokeh Dots set for the wreath with the sentiment from Essentials By Ellen Cozy Christmas.   I used some embroidery floss as a finishing touch.

Celebrate!

Today's project is an entry in the Simon Says: Party! Challenge!   I have been inspired recently by several full front shaker cards on Instagram made using the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool.  This is a party in a card!

Celebrate! 1.5.16

The card is made with elements from the Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit.  The background panel is stamped with the happy birthday stamp in light gray and the balloons are paper pieced over top.

12 Tags of Christmas 2015 #6

Today's project is my 6th Christmas Tag for 2015 with a vintage style.  It features this cute stamp from the Lockhart Stamp Company colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  After coloring the bear, I did some ink blending with Tea Dye Distress Ink and also stamped the sentiment, from SSS Hoiday Hellos, with the same ink.  The tag is die cut with my trusty Lawn Fawn Tag You're It Die.

More Watercolor!

Today's project is more homework for Online Card Classes Watercolor for Cardmakers Exploring Mediums.  The first lesson was about using different types of markers and I was inspired to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color these cute critters from Lawn Fawn Into the Woods Stamp Set.

The project is also an entry in the current One Layer Card Lawnscaping Challenge.

Into the Woods 9.28.15

The critters are colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a waterbrush.  The background incorporates Jennifer McGuire's technique of using the marker around the perimeter of the image and using the waterbrush to feather it out.    The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Chit Chat set.

This project will also be entered in the Simon Says No Designer Paper Challenge.

Distress Ink Watercolor Stamping

Today's project is inspired by the Online Card Class - Watercolor For Cardmakers Exploring Mediums and is an entry in the current Wplus9 Sketch Challenge.  I love using the Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals set with distress inks to do watercolor stamping with distress inks.

Lucky Stars...

For today's project, I wanted to try to create a galaxy background.  I found a great video by Dawn at Wplus9 demonstrating doing a galaxy watercolor background.    Here is my attempt at a galaxy background using the Wplus9 Lucky Stars set.

I used the SSS Stitched  Rectangle dies to create a frame for a shaker card.  I love how it turned out (thanks Dawn) except in my picture there is an unfortunate placement of a green sequin!
