12 Tags Of Christmas 2014

12 Tags of Christmas 2014

Every year I make giftable Christmas tags to give to friends.  I start in January and try to make a set each month.  I usually come up a little short and have to play catch up.  This year was no different.

Here is a fun picture of all the tags laid out ready to put in their little bags.

Lawn Fawn Winter Owl Christmas Tag

Yes, yet another Christmas tag!  This tag is inspired by 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2014 - Day 4 by Kelly Alvarez.  Kelly's tag is beautiful - my design is much simpler... The tag is die cut from Lawn Fawn Tag You're It! die and embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  To enhance the embossing, the tag is lightly inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  The owl is from the Lawn Fawn Winter Owl set colored with copics and die cut with the matching die.  The greeting is from SSS Holiday Hellos and die cut with MFT die.

To add a little "bling," the scarf is decorated with clear Wink Of Stella and Glossy accents.

Hero Arts Holiday Cheer Christmas Tag

Yep...still working on Christmas Tags!  Today's tag features the Hero Arts Holiday Cheer Stamp Set. The tag is die cut the the Lawn Fawn Tag Your It die and embossed with snowflake Cuttlebug folder. The reindeer are colored with copics, die cut and adhered with foam squares.  Added the sentiment from the same stamp set and that was it!

12 Tags of Christmas 2014

Today's tag features a cute snowman from Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes.  Again, I tried an experiment - this time with different copic backgrounds.   For the first two tags (left and middle), the background is colored with copics - first a light color pallete, then a dark one.  The bakckground on the last tag is airbrushed with copics after first masking off the image.

The airburshed background was definitely easier but you do have to do the masking...so I guess it depends on the project.

12 Tags Christmas 2014 - November

Hello all -

Back today with another Christmas Tag.  This time I decided to do a coloring experiment - one each colored with watercolor, colored pencil and copics.

Elf tag 1 11.28.14

I stamped the My Favorite Things Elf Girl Stamp set three times - two on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and one on watercolor paper.

The first tag is colored with Prismacolor pencils - I just did dry color blending.

Elf tag 3 11.28.14

On the next one, I used copics...

Elf tag 4 11.28.14

The third tag is watercolored using distress inks.

Elf tag 2 11.28.14

All the tag were finished off with a some Tea Dye Distress Ink blendd around the edges.

Which one do you like best?  Usually I prefer the bolder look of the copic marker coloring, but for this project, I think the watercolor is my favorite.

Thanks for visiting today and happy inklings!
