Birthday Cards

Smile!

Today's project is an entry in the Simon Says It's Hip To Be Square Challenge featuring the Simon Says Stamp Spring Flowers and Happy and Smile Stamp Sets.

First, I cut a square from Smooth Bristol cardstock and white heat embossed the flowers around the perimeter of the square.  The flowers are watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  The greeting is heat embossed with gold in the center of the panel.  The center panel and card base are splattered with paint.  Also, I used a Jennifer McGuire trick to add emboss "splatters" to the card base.  Just put some water droplets, added embossing powder and heat set.  Pretty good trick!

WPlus9 Unforgettable

WPlus 9 Unforgettable is one of my favorite stamp sets!  I colored one of the elephant images for Kathy Rac's recent 30 Day Color Challenge.  Here is the finished card after I added a background, balloon and sentiment.    For the background, I used a cloud die to cut some masks and then blended on some Distress Ink.  I wanted the card base to match the front panel so I used the same ink to color the edges.

MFT Sketched Blooms

I've had the MFT Sketched Blooms for a while now and am just getting a chance to use it.  The set is very intriguing because it is so versatile.  You can color the line art  images with watercolor or copics or stamp the solid colors and use the line art images to create depth and definition.  So fun!

I just scratched the surface by stamping some of the solid images from MFT Sketched Blooms and using some of the outline images to add the definition.  To make the full shaker card front, I used the WR Memory Keepers Fuse Tool.  The happy birthday sentiment is a die-cut from Simon Says Stamp.

Wish Big!

I am so happy to finally have this stamp set - Essentials By Ellen Wish Big by Julie Ebersole!  So I had to use it for the current Ellen Hutson's Mix It Up Challenge.  The challenge is to combine an Essentials by Ellen product and one by Impression Obsession.  Here is my project incorporating the Wish Big set with an Impression Obsession Background - Distressed Brick.

The Distressed Brick background is clear heat embossed - just partially stamped - on a card base of SU Crumb Cake.  The images from Wish Big are watercolored with watercolor pencils.  To top it off, the sentiment is white heat embossed on a scrap of orange cardstock.

Now I need the dies for the set! :)

Shaker!

Today's project is a fun shaker birthday card!  The focal image is the Penny Black Sweet Thing stamp colored with copics.   I used a circle die cut and a piece of acetate to complete the shaker.  The white heat embossed sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages.

This project will be entered in the Simon Says Use a Stamp Challenge!

Unforgettable

Hello all!  Today's projects feature watercoloring and the WPlus 9 Unforgettable Stamp Set.  This is one of my favorite sets ever!

In the first version, below, the elephant is a little darker and with a pale blue background.

Unforgettable 1 8.28.15

The elephant is a little lighter in the second version (I think I like this one a little better) with a few of the stars from the set stamped in the background.   Love the stars!

Happy Birthday Shaker!

My shaker card today features the Simon Says Stamp Thought Bubbles Set.

First I created the card front by making my own stencil with the Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts Die and sponging on some distress ink.   Next I cut the window in the front of the card with the Simon Says Thought Bubble die.  The background of the shaker is again sponged with distress ink and stamped with the sentiment from the set.  The shaker itself is made with the WR Memory Keepers Fuse Tool.

Happy and Smile!

Today's card features the Simon Says Stamp June 2015 Card Kit and some masking.  The kit is beautiful with wonderful bright colors!

First, I created a mask using Simon Says Stamp Balloon dies.  After applying the mask to card front, I stamped some of the words from the stamp set inside the balloon shape using various blue and green inks.  Next, I used a mini distress ink blender tool with Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass inks to define the edge of the balloon so the edge of the masked area would stand out.  The card is finished with some black and white baker's twine and a strip of patterned paper from the kit.

On a side note, have you seen the preview for the July kit?  Looks like a great nautical theme with a die!

Unforgettable Shaker Card

Today's project is an entry in the WPlus9 Get Sketchy Challenge #1.  The challenge is to make a card inspired by the sketch below.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Unforgettable 5.27.15

I used the WPlus9 Unforgettable Stamp set and matching die to create a shaker card.   The super cute elephant is colored with copic markers and die cut.  The background is inked with the SSS Medium Dots stencil and white pigment ink.  The shaker was made using my fabulous new WR Memory Keepers Fuse Tool (happy mothers day to me!)

This project will also be entered in the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.
