Hero Arts

Wishing You Lots of Happy...

Today's project is a piece that I started during one of Kathy Rac's 30 Day Coloring Challenges.  The flower images are from an older set of cling stamps from Hero Arts Luscious Bold Flowers.  I stamped the flowers in Distress Ink and then smudged each flower a bit with a damp water brush.  I used a Distress Marker to add a little accent color to each flower.  The background is lightly watercolored with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile set. I added a little sparkle with a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen.

OCC Stretch Your Dies

Hello all!  Here is a card inspired by OCC Stretch Your Dies Day 1 - Word Dies.  Jennifer had a beautiful project using word dies to create a background.  Here is my take on it - using Lawn Fawn Scripty Thanks die.  The stamps are from Hero Arts but I don't know the name of the set :).

Mix It Up Challenge!

Today I am participating in the first ever Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up Challenge!  The challenge is to pair a Essentials By Ellen product with a Hero Arts product.  My project is heavily inspired by a recent Jennifer McGuire post here.    I paired the Bokeh Dots by Julie set and the new Ranger Dye Inks to create a colorful background.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Yay! set and is heat embossed.

A pair of brigh, cheery and happy cards!

Cupcake Toppers!

Hello all!  Today I have some cupcake toppers to share.  These are for our middle school swim team...their season just ended and these will be used to recognize the 8th graders.  I used a multitude of stamp set but the majority are from Hero Arts Yay!  Stamp Set.  The purple pennant or banner is was die cut using Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners.

Hero Arts Holiday Cheer Christmas Tag

Yep...still working on Christmas Tags!  Today's tag features the Hero Arts Holiday Cheer Stamp Set. The tag is die cut the the Lawn Fawn Tag Your It die and embossed with snowflake Cuttlebug folder. The reindeer are colored with copics, die cut and adhered with foam squares.  Added the sentiment from the same stamp set and that was it!

Hello You!

Hello all!  Today's project is a card inspired by a recent Julie Ebersole Hello Monday post.  The flower image was embossed with white embossing powder then "painted" with clear water.  Next, you dab on concentrated colors - I used Stampin Up reinkers.  Then you tilt, dab, dry, add more color, tilt, dab and dry some more, until you get the look that you like.   Used the Clear Wink of Stella marker to add a little sparkle to the SSS Small You Die.

Simon Says Small Hello Die

I have two projects to share today using my new Simon Says Small Hello Die.

Do you ever see a card online and it just sticks with you until you make an "inspired by" card?  Well, it happens to me a lot.  This card was inspired by a card in OCC Clean and Simple 3 by Debby Hughes.  I wanted to make one like it since ... took me a while to get the die...its was sold out for quite a while. It features the super fun inlaid die cut technique.

Inlaid Hello 6.8.14

My second card features waterclor stamping and, again, the new hello die.  To stamp the image, I simply inked up the Hero Arts stamp with a variety of blue green Distress Inks, then spritzed with water and stamped!  The hello sentiment is cut from Ellen's Craft-A-Board, then heat embossed with black embossing powder.

Watercolor Emboss Resist Background

Hello all!  Today's project is another inspired by the OCC Watercolor and features a watercolor emboss resist background.  I wish I had used a little more water to make the colors flow together more - oh well, live and learn.

OCC Watercolor Day 1

The OCC Watercolor class has been stupendous!  Have loved all the techniques and inspiration!  I just makes your head spin...anyway, Day 1 was about watercolor backgrounds.  Great stuff!

Here is my attempt at a watercolor background.  I used my new Peerless Watercolors to do the wash on the background then cut the circle with the MFT Pierced Circle Die.

More Watercolor Background Practice

Hello all!

Did these backgrounds for more watercolor practice prior to the start of the Watercolor Online Card Class.  Just got a chance to complete the cards this weekend.  The cards are very much inspired by some cards that Jennifer McGuire created a few months ago.  The focal image is a Hero Arts stamp using Distress Markers to watercolor the background.   Very bright and fun, yes?
