Ink Blending

12 Giftable Tags of Christmas 2016 #10

Hello all!  Hope you, your family and friends had a wonderful Christmas!

I have one more Christmas tag to share with you that I started during Kathyrac's last 30 Day Coloring Challenge finished a few weeks ago.   The tag is die cut from Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Tags.  I first put a layer of distress ink then, over top of that, used a striped stencil to add more color.  Next I colored some white card stock with several green copic markers to create an ombre effect and die cut the joy using the Lawn Fawn Scripty Joy die.  I added some sparkle with clear Wink of Stella then a layer of glossy accents and adhered to the tag with another joy behind it cut from white card stock.

This tag will be entered in the Simon Says Make It Sparkle Challenge.

Double Partial Die Cutting

Hello all!  I don't do this technique very often but I love it!   The double partial die cutting is easy once you do it a few times.   This project features the Essentials By Ellen All Inside and the coordinating die.  The bear is colored with copics and the sunshine sentiment is also colored a "sunshine yellow."  The little guy is so cute and the die cuts out his hands so he can hold all kinds of things!

The sun rays in the die cut window were created using the My Favorite Things Sun Ray stencil some ink blending with distress inks.

Clean and Simple Thank You

Hello all!  Today's project is an entry in Simon Says Clean and Simple Challenge....

Products from a few different companies are used in the card.  First, I ink blended some Distress Ink on the background using the Crafters Workshop Mini Chunky Chevron.  Next, the sentiment, from WPlus9/Simon Says Stamp Many Thanks is stamped with Versafine Black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The triangle border is from Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season set and is also stamped with Versafine Black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Many Thanks 9.15.16

12 Giftable Tags of Christmas # 2

Today's project features the Mama Elephant Reindeer Games set and is part of my series of Christmas Tags for 2016.  First, I prepared the tag by cutting one of the tags from the Large Tag die from Simon Say Stamp using navy cardstock.  Then to give it more night sky dimension, I sponged on some Black Soot Distress Ink with an ink blending tool.  Next, I used the SSS Falling Snow Stencil and some white pigment ink to create the look of snow.  The cute reindeer and pine tree from Mama Elephant Reindeer Games are colored with copics and cut with the matching die.  To finish off the tag, I put a snow border under the reindeer using the MFT Snow Drifts Border Dies.  A little Wink of Stella finished off the snow drift.

Mama Elephant Woodland Gifts

Today's project is another entry into the Simon Says: Let's Go Wild Challenge.  I love critter stamps and the bear and bunny in the Mama Elephant Woodland Gift set are great!  The look on the bear's face so cute!  The background was masked off on all sides and then I used my new Clarity Stencil Brushes to make a soft background with some distress inks.  Love using the stencil brushes - they made the putting the color down very easy.

All the images - bunny, bear, log and balloon were colored with Copics.  To give the balloon more dimension, I added some glossy accents.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

WPlus9 Unforgettable

WPlus 9 Unforgettable is one of my favorite stamp sets!  I colored one of the elephant images for Kathy Rac's recent 30 Day Color Challenge.  Here is the finished card after I added a background, balloon and sentiment.    For the background, I used a cloud die to cut some masks and then blended on some Distress Ink.  I wanted the card base to match the front panel so I used the same ink to color the edges.

Essentials By Ellen All Inside

I'm all about stamp sets that have critters - especially bears!  And this bear is special because the die cuts out his arms so he can hold things.  I decided to use the Essentials By Ellen All Inside set to make my husband's Fathers Day Card.  The sentiment "You Are My Sunshine" is great!  This project will also be entered in the Essentials By Ellen June Pin Sights Challenge.  Here is the inspiration picture...

And here is my project...

First, I applied some blue and yellow ink with an mini ink blending tool.  Then I stamped all the images and colored them with copics.  I used the dies to cut the shapes and popped everything up with foam tape.  The "Sunshine" sentiment is stamped directly on the background and the "You are mine" sentiment is white heat embossed on black cardstock.

Today's project is my 6th Christmas Tag for 2015 with a vintage style.  It features this cute stamp from the Lockhart Stamp Company colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  After coloring the bear, I did some ink blending with Tea Dye Distress Ink and also stamped the sentiment, from SSS Hoiday Hellos, with the same ink.  The tag is die cut with my trusty Lawn Fawn Tag You're It Die.

Sending Smiles...

Today's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Make it Colorful - fun right?  My project features the Mama Elephant's Up and Away set and some soft ink blending.

I may have mentioned before that I have really been working on my ink blending a la Laura Bassen. She does a beautiful job.  I really fight having those round ink blobs because I get too crazy.  Anyway, Laura Bassen did a lesson on ink blending for the last OCC Background Check.  Specifically, I wanted to work on blending in the center of the card.  I was very pleased with the result but I need to keep practicing.

The cute monkey and umbrella from Mama Elephant Up and Away are colored with copics and cut with the matching dies.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The stitched lines across the bottom of the card are from the Technique Tuesday In Stitches set.
