Pretty Pink Posh

Sending Smiles...

Today's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Make it Colorful - fun right?  My project features the Mama Elephant's Up and Away set and some soft ink blending.

I may have mentioned before that I have really been working on my ink blending a la Laura Bassen. She does a beautiful job.  I really fight having those round ink blobs because I get too crazy.  Anyway, Laura Bassen did a lesson on ink blending for the last OCC Background Check.  Specifically, I wanted to work on blending in the center of the card.  I was very pleased with the result but I need to keep practicing.

The cute monkey and umbrella from Mama Elephant Up and Away are colored with copics and cut with the matching dies.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The stitched lines across the bottom of the card are from the Technique Tuesday In Stitches set.

Pop-Up Card

Hello all!

My brother is hosting Thanksgiving this year and he asked me to make a invitation card for some family that live out of town.  I have had the Mama Elephant Pop-Up Die for some time now but haven't used it - today was the day!

The card front features the cute acorns from Lawn Fawn Into the Woods set colored with copics.   The acorns are then cut out with the matching die.  The background is lightly inked with the SSS Medium Dots stencil and some distress inks (Wild Honey, Scattered Straw and Peeled Paint.)  Next I used the Pretty Pink Posh Filmstrip Die and sponged on the same ink.  A little bow from burlap twine completes the front.

For the pop-up inside, I cut a piece of green cardstock slightly smaller than the card base and scored it.  Next I used the Mama Elephant Pop-Up die to cut the pop-up right at the score line.  I added another acorn colored with copics and die-cut.  The final touch was a custom sentiment with Lawn Fawn Milo's ABC's.
