Shaker Cards

MFT Sketched Blooms

I've had the MFT Sketched Blooms for a while now and am just getting a chance to use it.  The set is very intriguing because it is so versatile.  You can color the line art  images with watercolor or copics or stamp the solid colors and use the line art images to create depth and definition.  So fun!

I just scratched the surface by stamping some of the solid images from MFT Sketched Blooms and using some of the outline images to add the definition.  To make the full shaker card front, I used the WR Memory Keepers Fuse Tool.  The happy birthday sentiment is a die-cut from Simon Says Stamp.

Today's project is an entry in the Simon Says: Party! Challenge!   I have been inspired recently by several full front shaker cards on Instagram made using the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool.  This is a party in a card!

Celebrate! 1.5.16

The card is made with elements from the Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit.  The background panel is stamped with the happy birthday stamp in light gray and the balloons are paper pieced over top.

Lucky Stars...

For today's project, I wanted to try to create a galaxy background.  I found a great video by Dawn at Wplus9 demonstrating doing a galaxy watercolor background.    Here is my attempt at a galaxy background using the Wplus9 Lucky Stars set.

I used the SSS Stitched  Rectangle dies to create a frame for a shaker card.  I love how it turned out (thanks Dawn) except in my picture there is an unfortunate placement of a green sequin!

Today's project is a fun shaker birthday card!  The focal image is the Penny Black Sweet Thing stamp colored with copics.   I used a circle die cut and a piece of acetate to complete the shaker.  The white heat embossed sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages.

Happy Birthday Shaker!

My shaker card today features the Simon Says Stamp Thought Bubbles Set.

First I created the card front by making my own stencil with the Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts Die and sponging on some distress ink.   Next I cut the window in the front of the card with the Simon Says Thought Bubble die.  The background of the shaker is again sponged with distress ink and stamped with the sentiment from the set.  The shaker itself is made with the WR Memory Keepers Fuse Tool.

Paper Smooches Shaker Card

Playing along today with two challenges - Simon Says...Shake It! and Paper Smooches Anything Goes.

First, inspired by a recent Jennifer McGuire blog post, I made the background by inking a Cuttlebug Argyle Embossing Folder with red ink.  The shaker shape was cut with a new-to-me die Paper Smooches Pocket Die.  The little "shakelets" were cut from the same die, plus a few sequins and gold hearts.  The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches Chit Chat set and cut with a talk bubble die.

Shaker Card!

Today's post is my first shaker card!  Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake!  I found a few shaker card tutorials on the web - one was on Pretty Pink Posh and Laura Bassen has several videos - here is one.  The process is very fun and addictive!  I think my shaker card turned out to be a little too busy - but ... still fun.
